The vines here must dig deep into the mountain spur jutting forward into the Winklen block of the single-site Ihringer Winklerberg. Within the family, we refer to these wines as "Rappennecker." These parcels have a higher share of loess, resulting in a granular and fertile calcium-rich soil. This combination produces approachable wines that even in their youth demonstrate incredible aging potential through body, fruit and aromatic complexity.
