Die Weinberge rund um das Weingut Heger.

Weingut Dr. Heger

A mere speck on the map for many, but for wine lovers it is a village with a magnetic appeal: Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl. Here in Germany's southwesternmost tip sits the VDP member estate of Weingut Dr. Heger, a label synonymous with grand wines in both, Germany and abroad. Joachim Heger today leads the estate hand in hand with his wife Silvia.

The estate's name is inextricably bound with the Ihringer Winklerberg, one of Germany's most renowned vineyards, and the Achkarrer Schlossberg. Extremely steep, extremely warm and extremely stony: these unusual conditions produce distinctive wines with a unique sense of place, especially in our Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder and Riesling. We also proudly produce fine bottles of Silvaner, Chardonnay and Muskateller. Each wine presents a delicate, recognizable minerality and subtle grace.

We harness the latest insights into ecology and plant cultivation, cover crops and organic fertilizer to better express this distinctive terroir. For us, these modern methods are essential tools for retaining and improving the fragile ecosystem of the vineyard, our most precious resource now and an inheritance we hope to pass on to future generations.
